Learning Strategy Instruction
So you have a diagnosis? Now what? If you struggle to understand how to overcome identified learning barriers, we can help! Learning Strategy Instruction is designed to support individuals in developing skills customized to each individual's unique learning profile. Skills development might include: time management, study skills, executive functioning skills, and self advocacy. Post secondary students in Newfoundland and Labrador who have a medical or learning disability (ADHD, anxiety, depression, PTSD, learning disability) are often eligible to receive the Canadian Student Grant for Services and Equipment for Students with Disabilities (CSE-DSG). These grants often cover services such as learning strategy instruction, and assessment services as offered at Berries and Juniper Wellness. Contact us to discuss how our services might be covered by such a grant.
Assessment
Supporting Families Through Change
Assistive technology support is designed to provide consultation and support specific to each individuals unique needs. We work with individual students to select tools that will best facilitate learning while also providing instruction on how to use these tools to support them.
Assistive Technology Support
Our Educational-Psychological Assessments are comprehensive, standardized tools designed to find out how a person's unique learning style affects their education.
These assessments help by:
-
Revealing a learner's specific strengths and challenges.
-
Empowering individuals to advocate for their own educational needs.
-
Ensuring students have full, barrier-free access to learning.
We provide these assessments so students can get the official documentation they need to unlock school support and accommodations.
Navigating the school system and other life transitions can sometimes feel complex and difficult to interpret. We offer supportive guidance to help children, young people and families understand available pathways, processes and supports at different stages of their journey. Our focus is on helping families feel informed, empowered and confident as they navigate educational and life transitions, while fostering positive and collaborative relationships with schools, services and the wider community.
